Home PBX: Grandstream GXP-2000 firmware update

Today, I have upgraded the firmware of my Grandstream GXP-2000 VoIP phone. It took me some time to get everything together, but eventually I managed to have a successfull upgrade.
- Since I run on a Mac, I had to get the tftp server running. An article on AFP548 helped me with it: Setting Up the TFTP Server in Tiger
- Download the firmware you want from the Grandstream website and unzip the file. Put the contents of the file (all the .bin files) in the root of the TFTP server path. Do not put them in a subfolder!
- Login as admin and configure the update to use the TFTP protocol
- Provide the IP of the machine hosting the TFTP server.
- Reboot the GrandStream.
- Click Re-login after some seconds.
- Once you see the login prompt again, shutdown the tftp server. My phone kept rebooting for as long as it could reach the TFTP server.
What did not work for me:
- HTTP firmware upgrade
- Using a host name as the TFTP server
- Using a folder below the root path of the TFTP server
Hope this helps other people!
